Right Wing Rest Stop Wars

Evidentially some freaky bizness goes down when "family-values" Republicans go into public bathrooms. This time it's the distinguished gentleman from Idaho, Sen. Larry Craig. The married senator was trying to solicit some hot man-on-man action when the object of his affections pulled a badge. Craig thought the handcuffs was all part of the roll playing he so longed for but as it turned out...not so much.

And this comes to light after noted "hetero" and Republican family-values man State Rep. Bob Allen was busted trying to offer sex to an undercover officer in a bathroom in Florida. He's not gay though he's just afraid of "black guys".

It just proves the old adage...when you're scared of black people offer them $20 and a blow job. I think that's how the saying goes but I'm not sure.

I guess the real question isn't should in-the-closet politicians that discriminate and legislate against other gay people be allowed to stay in-the-closet? But rather why do both of these guys have two first names? And can we ever trust people with two first names again? I'm talking to you Lee Terry of Nebraska!

UPDATE: Terrible Ted pees his pants over draft

Richard Roeper of the Chicago Sun-Times brings to light Ted Nugent's draft dodging and hygene issues in times of war.
So Ted Nugent roams a concert stage while toting automatic weapons, calls Barack Obama "a piece of -----" and says he told Obama to suck on one of his machine-guns. He also calls Hillary Clinton a "worthless bitch" and Dianne Feinstein a "worthless whore."

That Nugent, he's a man's man. He talks the talk and walks the walk, right?

Except when it was time to register for the draft during the Vietnam era. By his own admission, Nugent stopped all forms of personal hygiene for a month and showed up for his draft board physical in pants caked with his own urine and feces, winning a deferment. Creative!

Nice.

John Edwards brings the heat

He of the infamous haircut calls out corporate America and those Democrats and Repubs that do their bidding in the hopes of making mad cash and hooking up their family members with future lobbyist jobs.
Real change starts with being honest -- the system in Washington is rigged and our government is broken. It's rigged by greedy corporate powers to protect corporate profits. It's rigged by the very wealthy to ensure they become even wealthier. At the end of the day, it's rigged by all those who benefit from the established order of things. For them, more of the same means more money and more power. They'll do anything they can to keep things just the way they are -- not for the country, but for themselves.

...The choice for our party could not be more clear. We cannot replace a group of corporate Republicans with a group of corporate Democrats, just swapping the Washington insiders of one party for the Washington insiders of the other.

...It's time to end the game. It's time to tell the big corporations and the lobbyists who have been running things for too long that their time is over. It's time to challenge politicians to put the American people's interests ahead of their own calculated political interests, to look the lobbyists in the eye and just say no.

AlterNet has a good post on the speech here.

Or you could just read the speech here.

It's a free-for-all of bat-shit-craziness

Wow! Ted Nugent is out of his f'n mind and is now making terrorist threats against Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Diane Feinstein and most of all rational thinking. This raises a some interesting questions.
  1. Who the hell is still paying money to see a Ted Nugent concert? Unless he's playing a free gig at some Six Flags somewhere it's hard to comprehend why there is an audience in front of him. I mean, I get that Cat Scratch Fever and Free For All are rockin' jams but let's face it his "rockin'" to "shitty" ratio leans pretty hard to the "shitty" side.
  2. Isn't it a crime to threaten or incite violence against a U.S. citizen let alone three U.S. Senators?
  3. Is Bill O'Reilly going to start a boycott against the Nuge?
  4. Who the hell is still paying money to see a Ted Nugent concert?
It looks like I'm going to have to get my classic rocks off to Montrose now and lose my Nugent discs.

Those Who Forget History Are Doomed to Repeat It

The patriots at FOX are at it again. Let's hope we're all not pulled into this one as well. Take a minute to watch the Robert Greenwald video below to see how they're using the same script for Iran that they did with Iraq. Sign this petition and tell the other networks not to follow suit like they did the last time.

Your tax dollars being doled out to the GOP

It may come as a shock to some but I think these jokers in and around the Bush White House may be a tad unethical...

From McClatchy...
Top Commerce and Treasury Departments officials appeared with Republican candidates and doled out millions in federal money in battleground congressional districts and states after receiving White House political briefings detailing GOP election strategy...Under the Hatch Act, Cabinet members are permitted to attend political briefings and appear with members of Congress. But Cabinet members and other political appointees aren't permitted to spend taxpayer money with the aim of benefiting candidates.
